Avocado



The avocado is often considered a vegetable high in fat, but is actually a nutrient rich and energy dense fruit. There are much as 30 grams of fat in every avocado, but the fat is the "good" monounsaturated fat. there are many essential nutrients in an avocado including 50 percent more potassium than the banana, vitamin E, B, and C, Folic acid, high fiber and high protein content.Avocados contain no cholesterol, are smooth in texture and are a food that even babies can enjoy. Today, there are hundreds of avodaco variety grown around the world, with California being the big producer in the U.S. There are eight varieties most commonly produced in the U.S. with Hass being the leading variety. Ripening avocados may take a few days at room temperature. To speed up the pirening, place in a paper bag and once rioe, may be keep in the refrigerator for several days. This is truly a great fruit to enjoy all year round.
