This morning hubby just ask for a piece of hot milk cake and tea for breakfast, (he takes off from work for fews days cause the job site is not ready yet nothing to do) after he finish his breakfast he spent the rest of the morning watching TV while I do the laundry and blogging lol.
He watch travel channel "No Reservation Hawaii" re-run, I'm sure you know this guy,

Anthony Bourdain
(that shirt cost him $3,000.00 according to his show its one of a kind! ouch!)

We love this guy because he look so cool. So he happen to visit our favorite and so famous Hawaiian restaurant in town by Kapahulu Ave. "Ono Hawaiian Food" and his eating Hawaiian food, and hubby's mouth is watering while watching the show and decided to have lunch at "Ono Hawaiian Food", man we just drive 35 miles to town to have lunch, but it's alright the food is so ONO! (ono is Hawaiian word means DELICIOUS!)

wonderful skies

I love to watch the sunset skies, though we have this VOG (volcanic Pollution) from the Kilauea Volcano of Big Island resulting to a hazy day, but a hazy day means a beautiful and so colorful sunset like this one here.
What a wonderful world, staring to this beautiful sky makes me forget for a while how chaotic our world this days.

This is Kahe point, leeward highway coastline starts here to the end of the island Kaena point, i'm not sure how many miles of coastline highway it is, maybe about 20 miles or more . Who don't want to live here, every day you see this beautiful pacific ocean, our house is just about 200 meters away from the ocean and I can view the ocean from our home. I love it here so much, especially when I'm bored and nothing to do I just sit and stare by the ocean side watching the sail boats! what a spectacular and relaxing site!

Historical Place

I really appreciate historical places and houses, and I like to visit this kind place and learning things about the structures like this one W.H. Stark House a Victorian landmark in Orange Texas. A 14,000 square-foot home was built in 1894 by William Henry Stark and his wife, Miriam M. Lutcher stark, prominent philanthropists who occupied the home until 1936. Designed in the queen Anne architectural style, the house features a distinctive turret, stained glass windows, and ornate woodwork in cypress and long leaf yellow pine.
A brief History of Stark:
Miriam Melissa Lutcher Stark moved to Orange, Texas, with her parents, Henry Jacob Lutcher and Frances Ann Lutcher, as a teenager in the late 1870s. Her father co-founded the Lutcher & Moore Lumber Company, which was the start of the philanthropic legacy of the Lutcher and Stark families.
In 1881, Miriam Lutcher married William Henry Stark, who was involved in various business endeavors including banking, oil, rice, and insurance. Upon the death of Miriam’s father, William Henry Stark became the president of the Lutcher & Moore Lumber Company. He and Miriam had two children, Frances Ann Stark and H.J. Lutcher Stark. Frances Ann Stark died as a young child, but H.J. Lutcher Stark survived his parents. Miriam and W.H. Stark were avid collectors who instilled in their son, H.J. Lutcher Stark, a lifetime dedication to philanthropy and the arts that continues to benefit the Orange, Texas, community today.
The W.H. Stark House is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark by the Texas Historical Commission. It is operated as a program of the Nelda C. and H.J. Lutcher Stark Foundation, a private foundation established in 1961 by H.J. Lutcher Stark, the only surviving child of W.H. and Miriam Stark.
What a nice place to visit and a well preserve historical place.

BBQ anyone?

During weekend I really find time to grill for dinner, so last sunday I decided to make this beef barbecue, I marinate it for couple hours with soy sauce a little vinegar brown sugar spices and a little sprite! yah sprite, its a good meat tenderizer and it gives your meat the fruity sweet taste.

My DAY Off!

I take a little break from blogging yesterday and today, I just check my blogs for a while but I was not able to visit most of my friends (sorry for that guys). Hubby was home too for two days, we sleep and eat a lot and go to the mall, we need to take a little break and enjoy each others company. Today we went to the windward side of the island, hubby went to the gym and I shop while waiting for him. Im happy I found the purse that I like.

My TREAT!!!! ;)

I've been blogging for 3 months now, and I already earned some bucks! I transfer some last week on my bank account because I promise to treat hubby for dinner. Its Friday and he just stayed home, I told him I want to treat him for dinner and ask him where he wanted to go. I like to dine at Tony Roma's but He decided to have sushi, so we end up at Ala Moana Mall and have buffet dinner at TSUKIJI, the sushi's are good, hubby ate a lot of king crab legs I don't have appetite for crab legs this time so I ate kalbi and sushi's only...
That was good and I spent $100 including tip, It feels good to treat my hubby once in a while especially with the money I've earned. I make a promise again if I get my quota of certain amount I'll treat him at RUTH CRIS Steak house, it's my payback time because he always treat me to fancy restaurant even we have no occasion.
I love you babe for being so nice to me, for loving me and being so generous too lol.

It really help me keep going everyday!

SURFING Town

If you visit Oahu Hawaii for vacation and some Surfing, recomended place is HALEIWA (read as HALE-IVA, in Hawaiian language W mostly pronounce as V). This is part of North Shore where you can find a good size SURF! I love coming here watching the Huge waves especially during winter where swell is really as huge as 20-40 feet. Sad to say I'm not a good swimmer don't even know how to surf, I only come here to enjoy dipping on the shallow waters and suntanning, or Boggy boading but not on deep part LOL.
Next time I come here I will take a shot where they film BAY WATCH!!!

Its friday and hubby stayed home today, hhmmm I love when he stayed home, we spend quality time together. Its almost noon when I ask him what he want for lunch he said anything I wish to cook for him, I have no plan in mind scan the freezer and found mussel. To make fast, simple and easy here it is, I mix soften butter, minced garlic, chop fresh parsley salt and pepper bake for 10 minutes at 425 degrees, walalala its chow time....

Holo-Holo Hawaii

I love going North Shore, one of the surfing mecca in Hawaii, a lot of tourist especielly surf riders head North Shore where the waves during winter season reach 20-30 foot!
Above is a photo of Waimea bay, one of the best beach to catch huge waves at North Shore Oahu.
Love this country side, lots of tourist here but still remains the country living peaceful and relaxing.
By the way Holo-holo is a Hawaiian term means to roam around.

Dried FLOWERS

Everytime we buy something that comes with SILICA GEL, I keep those silica gel and I used it to dry flowers, Like this flower above, last valentines hubby gave me a bunch of red roses, I took one place it in a jar and pour silica gel on it and seal tight until the flower dried up, I open it yesterday, its two months inside the jar and look the petals are still soft. I love to preserve flowers this way.

Here's a shot I've took last Friday a glimpse of Honolulu, high rise buildings and so busy streets, this area is near the harbor and Aloha tower where the cruise ships docks.
Oahu where Honolulu is the busiest Island of all the Hawaiian island chain, 75% of the Hawaii population lives here in Oahu or Honolulu, thats why we have the best traffic here LOL .

I went to the bank last saturday to open another bank account for my paypal. The Ass. Customer service manager attend me, then we chitchat for a while and she ask me why I'm opening another bank account, I told her about blog to earn and she then said "is that paid surveys? because we have many cases already, people are cashing or depositing checks here from online paid surveys but its a bad check". I said no its different kind, I get my new account though but leaves me thinking maybe thats why most of paid online surveys send you checks and not using paypal.
I don't know if online paid surveys are BOGUS or not, I tried doing it a few times but I don't like most of it especially when they are asking my name and address. We hate to receive junk mails on our mailbox. I'm not so expert about this online things but when I'm signing up for surveys or something and then asking my name and address I back out right away for security reason, Identity theft is so rampant this days, and providing your name and address is a big risk especially on the internet. I don't have any proof if it's BOGUS or not, maybe there are some but not all.

6). Keep garlic in a cool, dry place. If the temperature is too warm, the gloves will turn into gray powder and if the air is dump, the garlic will sprout.
7). If celery has become limp, revive it by wrapping in a absorbent kitchen paper adn let it stand in a jar of water.
8). Ripen avocados at room temperature. If ripe already keep in the fridge for up to 2 days.
9). Dried beans should always be kept in labeled jars in a dry place. They will keep for about 12 months.
But after that they tend to become tough, loose their flavor and take longer to cook. So throw away beans that are more than a year old.

This depends entirely on the particular vegetables, and while onions and potatoes can be successfully stored for months, more tender vegetables, like mushrooms and tomatoes are best eaten as soon as possible.
the following are few basic rules and tips.
1). If possible, buy vegetables as you need them. If buying for a week plan your meals so that the more tender vegetables such zucchini and peas are eaten sooner rather than later.
2). Whenever storing vegetables removed them from plastic bag or plastic wrap.
3). Store vegetables in the salad drwer of the fridge and eat as soon as possible or with in 2-3 days.
4). Always store potatoes in dark, cool and dry place.
5). Dont store onions in the fridge as they will go soft. store in a cool, dry place, like a pantry or an outhouse.

"There’s a headstone in a cemetery with more information on it than you’d think you’d need."
Tucked away in a cemetery in Paramus you will find the gravesite and headstone of 60-year-old, former Manhattan attorney John Jacobs, along with something else – his cell phone number.
“I wanted to have a way to remember him,” said Marion Seltzer, John’s wife of 21 years.
And after dialing the number, the phone service is still working.
“Hi, you’ve reached the voice mail of John Jacobs … After you hear the beep leave a message and I’ll return the call,” is the message.

Guys why not try call him....

Avocado

The avocado is often considered a vegetable high in fat, but is actually a nutrient rich and energy dense fruit. There are much as 30 grams of fat in every avocado, but the fat is the "good" monounsaturated fat. there are many essential nutrients in an avocado including 50 percent more potassium than the banana, vitamin E, B, and C, Folic acid, high fiber and high protein content.Avocados contain no cholesterol, are smooth in texture and are a food that even babies can enjoy. Today, there are hundreds of avodaco variety grown around the world, with California being the big producer in the U.S. There are eight varieties most commonly produced in the U.S. with Hass being the leading variety. Ripening avocados may take a few days at room temperature. To speed up the pirening, place in a paper bag and once rioe, may be keep in the refrigerator for several days. This is truly a great fruit to enjoy all year round.

Arrowana

(photo borrowed from google)
I really love Arrowana, the largest, most graceful, and impressive of the freshwater tropical fish that can be kept in an aquarium. I have one before about 7 inch long silver arrowana but it only last for couple months and died I don't know why, it really make me sad cause arrowana is not a cheap fish, according to the Chinese arrowana is an ancient fish and raised for good luck.

My Garden -3-

(poor malunggay na upaw na hapit)
Well just showing my Filipino blood here hahaha I really plant "malunggay" or horseradish tree. Its so easy to spot a Filipino house here in Hawaii just look for big horseradish tree and you are 101% sure thats a Filipino house, I really get jealous of those houses who have big "malunggay" tree in their yard so I plant my own hahahaha, look at the poor malunggay no more leave I cook it already with chicken or fish.

Farewell Aloha Airlines, serving Hawaii for 61 long years. I have chicken skin every time I watch this tribute to Aloha Airlines, can't believe that it will end this way. Fuel cost and also inter-island competition is what they say the reason for the shut down. This means all aloha employees now are out of job, its sad.

How DUMB I am!

Yes I am dumb, naive or just don't care to know what "TRANSSEXUAL" is until this issue of Thomas Beatie, I bet almost every body in the world already know about the story of THOMAS BEATIE, I first saw his picture in one blog, forgot who's blog is that, didn't even care to read coz I thought its just a joke and I know its so impossible to happen.
Then they show it in OPRAH but I can't concentrate watching it, I don't know why, my mind is busy of something. When hubby came home I told him about a pregnant man and he told me that his not a man, actually hes born female and underwent reassignment to became a man, hes TRANSSEXUAL, I don't understand it. Whats TRANSSEXUAL or TRANS-GENDER, I finally have time to research about it and now I understand it, dumb me!
Well in Thomas Beatie's case, he was born female as Tracy LaGondino and fell inlove with his wife now, he underwent reassignment because same sex marriages is not allowed here in Hawaii. Beatie had testosterone therapy and chest reconstruction surgery, but retained his female genitalia.I think theres nothing wrong with his pregnancy because he's still a FEMALE by birth and retain his female genitals, a bit weird but thats their choice.

Thomas Beatie Quotes:
1. "I have a very stable male gender identity. I see pregnancy as a process, and it doesn't define who I am. It's not a male or female desire to want to have a child…it's a human desire," he says. "I'm a person, and I have the right to have my own biological child."
2. "I started to grow breasts, and it was kind of a shock to me because I didn't have my mother around, I was just used to catching footballs and balls, and so it hurt. I just kind of thought, 'What's my body going through? Is it betraying me"
3. "I'm a masculine person, and I preferred wearing clothes that made me feel comfortable. It wasn't something that I analyzed. I woke up in the morning and decided, 'This is what I want to wear today.' Over time, people started calling me 'sir,' and that was an interesting concept to me."

I've baked this yesterday, I really love to baked and also eat APPLE PIE yum yum, the combination of sweet smell of apples, cinnamon and the flaky pie crust is just oh so perfect!. If only they will tell that butter is healthy I might eat apple pie everyday in my life. But too much butter for this pie, I used about 3 stick of butter, thats the reason why is so buttery and yummy. SINFULLY Delicious!

Recycle is good to help our environment. I want to help in my own little way so I'm collecting all recyclable materials in our home for recycle, every other month we really find time to bring our recyclables to recycling centers.
HDPE (short for High Density Polyethylene) is a commonly used plastic which can be recycled. "HDPE Scrap" is the collected material which is then sold to be recycled.
HDPE buys scrap recyclable product, they are in the business of distribution and sourcing. They also offer consultancy services in Asian, European, South American, Australian and US market.
If you are looking for Virgin HDPE Granules please contact them.

My Garden -2-

My TI leaf and chillies, my hubby cant wait for the chillies to turn red, he want me to made him chili water, its a Hawaiian style boiling the chillies in water and use it a condiment. TI leaf, Hawaiian use TI leaf for making laulau, laulau is pork, butter fish and taro leaves then wrap in TI leaves and steam for 8 hours or until the taro leaves is thoroughly cooked. I plant it to used in cooking seafood laulau which my hubby love so much consist of mahi-mahi fish, shrimp, scallops, spinach, mayonnaise dash of pepper and salt wrap in TI leaf and steam for 20 minutes. Hawaiian use TI leaf too for good luck.

My Garden -1-

I've took this picture yesterday, my lemon grass (tanglad) and tai basils and regular basil. I plant mostly HERBS because I want my herbs fresh and always available every time I need it. Did you smell the chicken soup? hehehe lemon grass is best on chicken soup, its enhances its flavor so much but also good on chicken sauteed in lemon grass yum, basil is good on PHO (Vietnamese beef noodle soup), but I usually use the flowers and leaves of Thai basils on fish soup.
more picture to come.

(pictures grab from freezebox, SINULOG Mardigras '08)
Cebu is so colorfull during SINULOG season, it's every January 2nd week, a festival in the honor of Sr. Sto, NIÑO de CEBU, Cebu's patron saint.
Contingents from different places in the Philippines participate in mardrigas, it's the liveliest month in Cebu, and the song of SINULOG keeps playing on my head everytime I remember Sinulog, that goes "Sinulog mu syagit ug kusug PIT SEÑOR PIT SEÑOR! tanan mag saulog, sa sinulog, magsaulog".
How much I missed this SINULOG, wish we could visit Cebu during Sinulog.

I don't know if this experience I have this morning is counted, I wake up as early as 3am Pacific time, around 9am western time if I'm right ;) to try my luck and catch some opps, I'm not used to waking up that early, yes I was a little lucky got one from ppp and also one from SR or SP as you call it, well, minimum payout only huhuhu! ouch, after posting the two opps I went back to bed, when I've log back this morning I noticed that someone comment on one of my opps, she said we think the same about taking another career though its true that I've checked for training schools last year but I back out because of one reason (ang mahal ng bayad ahihihi). After I've read her comment I wonder and ask myself, "doesn't it look like opps?" I read my post and NOTICED that THERES NO LINK! OMG! this was the SECOND time it happen to me! (ang tanga2 ko talaga, antok pa kasi LOL) I correct it right away before somebody get BANNED! lol
