Thanksgiving is basically the kickoff of the Holiday season. As usual I did cook everything from scratch. I refused to brine our turkey because I want it simple with no complicated flavor so I stick to my butter rubbed, I used pretty much the same aromatics when it comes to the turkey cavity which is fruits and herbs. A friend of mine shared a good stuffing recipe that became our all time favorite which is smoked oyster stuffing. I made roasted veggies and mini custard-pumpkin pies which also a seller.

I'm loving the winter weather here in Hawaii right now, perfect on my Lazy Sunday day off. It does not fog as thick as these as much in Hawaii but today is unusual and I love it. I am well rested today and got the time to run some errands in town in this weather and low visibility. I have to be careful on what I wish for but I really love this winter wet and cold weather, it looks gloomy outside.

Durian

Durian is an Asian fruit with a very pungent smell, it is indeed acquired taste because for most it taste like a rotten onion. It is indeed an acquired taste and smell but to most who likes it, it has like a custard consistency.
We went to have bubble drink yesterday an a well known Thai place where they serve fresh fruits bubble drink. I tried Durian yesterday because I miss eating the fruit, it was my favorite one back hoema nd still my favorite till know although I cannot really find a fresh one here because it is stink. My husband and my friend are not too happy with me in the car because they said it is STINK haha.

Byodo-In Temple

This was taken last Sunday when we went around the island and got the chance to check out Byodo-in temple at Kaneohe. It is a very beautiful serene place. There are people who came in and check out the place because it is a tourist destination.
We usually do something on Sunday like go around the island, hike or check out places but since I start working full-time plus my part-time job, I don't have the time to do stuff although I am not complaining that I work 49 hours but my husband and I usually just rest on Sunday and enjoy our lazy day off.

Yellow Oranges

You can tell that I am bored! I remember I took this photo during my CNA crazy class. It was a boring skill afternoon, I am so tired and snapping pictures keep awake till our class ends. It was a fun short class that I am so thankful that I decided to take. That class help me be where I am right now.

My best friend is getting too spoiled of my cooking. Although I am glad that she love my cooking but she is getting spoiled :). When she saw recipe that she's interested, she always forward it to me and ask me if I can make it, of course I can! This time she requested for this lemon cheesecake bar for these coming Sunday get together. Now she owes me a lot, I should demand her to get me some brand new mini muffin pans :).

Poi Malasada

I love to sunk in my teeth on this sweet, fluffy, yummy fried poi malasada from Kam bakery. I like to eat it fresh and also when its day old, I know I can devourer a dozen of this. If you want this yummies you have to get them as early as you can because if you wait till noon time they will run out fast. I am glad that I start work at 7am in town, I usually leave home early to avoid traffic that I have enough time to stop by and get this thing.

Critters

I am not sure what is the reason why critters come out at muggy night when it is about to rain or bad weather is coming. They have their own sense that warns us to be ready for bad weather, it's amazing how they reacted that way. Yes I hate critters of the dark especially when they can sting you.

This was two weeks ago when my girlfriend and I had a Drink after what we call a "Dirty Day" at work. As healthcare workers we never know what our days brings. So if your heart is in healthcare you have to be ready for all the dirty stuff that will be part of your day.
It was so funny because not all people in healthcare are ready to get dirty. I took her to my part-time job and when we're done she just said "we need a Drink!" Many people go to healthcare career for the money and not ready for anything dirty that will come their way, which for me is wrong. You have to be ready and your heart should be there for the job and you will be good and touch people's life. A toss!

Rock Silhouette

I love this silhouette picture of these rock file with the sun setting on the west side of Oahu. I honestly don't know what we call this type of rock file in Hawaiian but I always see these around the island, it kinda mean sacred I guess. I have my own style on taking pictures, I wish that other people will angry with my style.

Sundowning

In Hawaii it is illegal to hold electronic devices while you're driving but I cannot resist the Hawaiian Beauty. This was taken yesterday while I'm driving home in traffic. It was about 7pm facing the sunset. I always feel lucky that I live in beautiful Hawaii, I am blessed and love being here, there is beauty everywhere you go.

Bawling

Last night we went bawling with friends, actually it was my first time and I did really good, I even did 2 strikes. I think we will be doing these more now at least once a month. WE had so much fun last night with my friends, but my main goal is to develop my bawling skills. I know I am good at it just a matter of learning the skills and technique.

Yakiniku

This is our new fab now, yakiniku home style. These all started after we had Yakiniku for my birthday and my husband and also Yakitori for my pre-birthday dinner. We love it so much that we are doing it every weekend, we invited one of my friends to have fun with us. This time we had beef, pork belly, shrimp, some veggies like enoki and button mushrooms. We also had watermellon margarita and some miso soup.

Yakitori

One of my friends told me about these yakitori bar place in town, that they have good ramen and yakitori. My husband and I tried it one night and we fell inlove with yakitori. It is so simple skewer dish with good flavor, we had tasted almost all the bizarre meets like tongue, chicken liver and gizzards and other meet and vegetables. The kimchi ramen is also very good we love it. I am recommending these place to my friends, it's a must try place.

Unknown Plant

I was wondering what is the name of this berries. It looks like coffee bean but has the texture of mountain apple, the leaves looks like chili leaves. I am not sure this is edible and yes I am not willing to be the guinea pig. I love it when I saw this plants because it reminds me of Christmas.

Life's Choices

I am so grateful that the craziest 3 weeks of my life was finally come to an end. I can breath now and focus on my next chapter, although I will be going to Saturday classes for another 4-5 months depending on their schedules, it's perfectly fine since I'm only doing it on Saturdays.
I am in the process of taking advance courses on my chosen career cause I know it will help me to advance in the future. I am so thankful and grateful of my husband for being very supportive with me right now.

My Candy Crush

I know that most of my friends on facebook are playing "candy crush", most of them are sending me invites for ages to join them but I told myself that I am over from this FB games and I have better things to do than waste my time on this game. My bestfriend got a hold of my phone one day and downloaded the apps, it stayed on my phone for ages until she played it and on my boredom moment I peek on it, that was the mistake I did! Now i am hooked on it which is really bad because I have so much things to do but then I always find myself playing candy crush! boo!

CNA

I was in hiatus for three weeks because I went to a CNA training school. It is time for me to do what I believe is a rewarding job. I really had a great experience although the last part of it was sad but it was worth all of the hard work we put in. I am grateful that I have learned skills and also gain more compassion in my heart. I am also grateful that I found new nice friends that are very supportive in helping each other to make it through. We are done with the program and we are currently doing the next chapter which is state certification. We are now meeting once a week to practice our skills and ready ourselves for the state certification exam. I am happy and thankful that my other half is very supportive on my decisions. I am Happy and grateful that I gained wonderful friends along the way.
